Sunshine, smiles and sweet music echoed down a bustling Broad Street in Red Bank on Saturday August 16th as The Downtown All-Stars of Red Bank held an acoustic concert in front of the legendary Jack’s Music Shoppe. The event not only raised funds and awareness for our current cause, Little Kids Rock, but continued the promotion of our compilation CD, “Bright Lights on Broad Street.”
Leading off, Jack’s patrons, outdoor diners and pedestrians were treated to the dulcet voice and deft guitar playing of Riley Schiro.
As midday approached, Poppa John Bug–the patriarch of the Red Bank music scene effortlessly entertained with soothing neo-soul and tales of classic music yore.
Mike Choi and the incomparable Steve Warendorf electrified the growing street crowd as The SMA Project brought their adroit musicianship to the party.
Pepperwine’s Kellie Shane & Breece Panepinto closed out the event spectacularly with everything from kazoos to soaring harmonies, all glazed with a sense of fun and dramatic flair.
The Downtown All-Stars of Red Bank sincerely thank Jack’s Music Shoppe for their generosity, our fabulous performers, and the music loving citizens of the Hip City for making this a successful event.
